This may be among the more controversial articles I have ever written, but I’m going to take a risk. I don’t care about offending people anymore.
The United States is in the middle of another hotly contested political debate over who should occupy 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue as the President of the United States.
I decided that I can no longer sit on the sidelines while people fight over social media over who should get your vote. I need to jump in the middle of the fray and tell you what I think you should do.
This election season, I urge you to follow my lead, and vote exactly how I’m going to. Not only will your vote help improve your life; it will help improve the lives of everyone you encounter.
The choice has never been clearer: You need to choose YOU this election season.
“What do you mean by that, Galel?” What I mean is that you should ignore the noise. The television ads, the radio commercials, the Internet ads, the YouTube videos, social media debates, you name it… Ignore the noise.
The goal of the media is to get you riled up. What’s the benefit in that? How effective can you be at work, with your family, and loved ones if your attention is taken by the noise of this election season?
I don’t advocate burying your head in the sand, but what I do advocate is to focus on that which you can control. You can’t control what a politician is going to do. You can’t control how your friends will vote. You can only control yourself.
Over the next 90 days, political campaigns will spend hundreds of millions of dollars to gain your attention.
Fight the urge to buy into the noise, and focus on taking care of yourself. Are you concerned about the future of our country? Great! I hope you are. Use your valuable energy on things that you can actually control. Pray, exercise, meditate, write, feed a homeless person, donate school supplies to a child who needs them… Do something other than waste your time fighting with people on the Internet and getting sucked into the day-to-day grind of political campaigns.
I would be remiss if I left out another thought. Regardless of what happens on Election Day, remember that everything is going to be all right!
Focus on taking care of yourself and your family. Set goals, and work towards them. Spend your time right now to finish 2016 on a powerful note. What you work on today will help set up a great 2017 for you, so use your time productively!
